Post-traipse

Yeah, I was naughty. I left the beaten path for the much more pleasant and grassy one. It follows the creek out to almost the Four Corners and is shady most of the way. The only tricky bit is the slipping down the hill where the trail breaks momentarily. (Also the fighting my way back up. Ah, those conveniently placed saplings.)
Once you've been lost in the woods, you no longer have anything to fear from nature. So it goes with me. Since that night down in Alfred, up the hill with no light and no path at all, I've felt quite confident in my ability to navigate these tiny excuses for forests we've got. After all, if I could get down to safety with only a fallen branch to guide me, I surely can make it through a few trees and shrubs.
Hungry now. (Look, Ma, no ill effects!) Going to see if we have anything edible in the cupboard.
