The fic in question is "Changes," by relytA. Found on ff.n - yeah, yeah, we all know I was askin' for it if I went there. *sigh*

Summary: What would have happened to easy company if one of them was a woman? (I mean in new character form)

Like any of them would be the old characters as a female. I hate to say it, but so much of why BoB works is its lack of women. The trenches were a man's world, save for a few nurses. Even the WACs didn't venture out there much.

What if they fell in love with one of the paratroopers?

...whoever was single and not just looking for a quick screw, ya mean?

I was the oldest of my three brothers.

Which implies that you're one of them.

The crouts (German soldiers) killed them. They killed them all. They killed Ted, John, and Lloyd.

Okay. Besides the fact that it's Krauts, this irks me because it reads like a primer. "See Spot. See Spot run. See Spot kill Ted, John, and Lloyd."

We lived out in Louisiana, and I was good at hunting, better than any of my brothers. Just because I was younger than 17, and my Dad wouldn’t sign my forms, I couldn’t go. Well, besides that I am a girl.

Yeah. That's just one ickle detail that might still get in her way today, even.

We had footlockers, but I was caucus of what I had put in there.

Oh, she's multiple! Damn, this might be good after all. No - wait a minute, she means "conscious." Hm.

I had to take my chances. Captain Sobel found out, but luckily, he talked to me privately about it.

*mind boggles* Sobel? Sobel as any kind of sympathetic figure?!?

He began to whisper into my ear. “I won’t tell anyone if you do something for me.”

"...get me a date with Dick Winters."

After that I tried to forget about it. I had no other choice. I wanted to kill crouts, and the only way to do that was to obey Captain Sobel.

Note that we aren't told exactly what it is he wants from her, and assumptions are a bitch. For all we know, she's serving him dessert every night in a French maid's outfit.

Skipping the disgusting tense changes. Also skipping the abbreviation of episode 1. God, this girl needs to learn "show, not tell."

We got a letter. George Luz (I think it’s him) always did impressions, when he was reading.

Is the author saying this or the character? Oh, wait - they're one and the same.

I was lucky enough to find Winter’s.

Grievous misplaced apostrophe aside: you would have been one of about ten or so that we saw.

Chapter Three already. At least this shit's short.

Before we left I told some of the paratroopers that I was a woman.

Oh, man, even the character tried to end this fic.

They were understanding. Some of them said that they figured out before.

And did nothing? Shit, those men wouldn't have seen a woman for fucking -weeks-. I should think a few would be willing to jeopardize her little secret in certain ways... ;-)

There goes episode 2, sailin' on by.

Winter’s leg got stiff.

His -leg- or something else? ;-)

Hah, Chapter Four. Damn. Author is currently pouting over lack of fawning. Well, what'd you expect? This ain't HP fandom. Use of a beta would increase the number of positive reviews. Use of an existing character as her lead might also help. Hell, she could write about Frau Tittenhausen's experiences...

I think last chapter was episode 3; we seem to be on ep 4 now.

It reminded me of school. Right after I moved I had tried to fit in. I bought the latest clothes, wore more make up, but I never did fit in.

What is this, Sweet Valley Company?

I liked to sit in my room and read instead of going shopping.

You know, with Buffy Heffron and Cindy Guarnere...

Damn. That's the end so far. Well, at least it was short. At least she knows it's badfic. I hope to hell she's delaying posting 'cause this is in the recycle bin beta.

All for now. Good night.
