Let's play!

I have a wrap skirt that no longer fits right at the waist. It is, all told, equivalent to one square yard of gorgeous dark green fabric (with light green embroidery!) plus a bit extra for pockets. What, my darlings, shall I make from it?

Headscarf? Or vest, maybe?

Vest is looking like the winner. I'm drafting my own pattern (gulp) on an old bedsheet first, so if I make a dog's breakfast of this project, I won't be ruining a perfectly good garment. I get to figure out how clothes get shaped like people without benefit of elastic! Wheeee!

Apropos of nothing, if my flist ever wants to know what to get me for Christmas or my birthday? Dress form. I need a dress form.

DIY dress form on Threadbanger. Mine cost roughly $3 and 4 hours of time to make. And it's a form of ME! http://www.threadbanger.com/episode/THR_20090403

Throw pillows? Shawl? Scarves?

It could make a cute purse. Slice off the waist tie, sew the panels together, and turn the waist tie into straps.

(I am also for the vest idea. You'd look adorable.)
