I agree wholeheartedly either way.
Unlikely motivation to get independent: the freedom to clean my own grout whenever I please. Mister I'll-Make-Noise-When-You're-Asleep-But-Don't-You-Dare-Return-The-Favour got in my hair about that this afternoon. On the upside, I should have more nice, clean grout to grin at during my next bath.
Looking back on all of my lofty girlhood dreams, I can safely say that was never why I wanted to finish my B.A.
(Tangent: does on-campus housing allow for emotional support animals?)
I would like very much to send the bra I am wearing off to a maker of same with these instructions: Duplicate this in a plain, smooth fabric, same cup proportions, band 1" longer. Get this -- my whole breast actually fits in the cup! There's no squoosh, like when I'm shopping in the girls' section, and there's no gap, like when I'm shopping in women's. I think any bra manufacturer who shapes an A-cup exactly like a D-cup has Issues anyway. No, stuffing the bottom half of the cup all to hell doesn't work, either (gappage ahoy); the one bra I own that does this and is not annoying about it is aerie's Emma, which at least is not obnoxious about the whole MAKE YOUR BOOBS INSTANTLY BIGGER! thing. It has one inoffensive air insert in each cup.
Someday I will simply have to open a boutique called Bras for Flat Girls. No, we don't all want to look like our more bosomy sisters. Some of us just want a little support so we can look our best as we are. Realistic cup shapes for all! Liberté, égalité, fraternité, et belles brassieres!
